There was tough competition in the XCC race, with riders fighting for position. Luke kept his cool and finished in P35. Conditions rapidly deteriorated for the XCO with heavy rains overnight soaking the already difficult course. With a deceptive uphill that drags at the best of times, the mud fest on race day made it increasingly difficult for riders to maintain speed and traction on the long track through the grass. Always a fast course, the riders needed all their skills to safely navigate the rocks and roots round the back end of the track.
Managing to stay upright – an impressive feat given the conditions – Luke finished the course in P14. With the top ten once again in his sights, he is amped and ready to take on the rest of the season!
