A P8 finish in Saturday’s XCC track on 15 June secured, Luke had a vital first-row start for the XCO on Sunday. After taking the inside line on one of the laps, Luke found himself boxed in and had to fight his way back to the top 15. He burnt some matches on the penultimate lap and made it back to the front of the race and secured his best XCC result along with his first front row start for u23 XCO! The XCO track proved challenging, with a tricky and technical start and another mud bath around the back. Things went sideways after a good start with a combination of pressure and fatigue taking their toll. Luke managed to finish in P21, enough to secure 9th overall and guarantee a second row start for the Crans-Montana XCC.
