DVT and Emerald Consulting, Dynamic Technologies group companies, observed Mandela Day 2026 with enthusiasm and pride. An international day celebrating the life and legacy of South Africa’s iconic President Nelson Mandela, it provides an opportunity for mindful community action that changes lives.
Both companies supported Ladles of Love, an NPO that helps to secure food for vulnerable people, supports education and uplifts communities.
DVT employees participated in a Ladles of Love volunteer initiative by gathering at the DVT Melrose Arch offices in Gauteng and working together to create educational development aids, which included wooden puzzles, hand puppets and veggie bean bags. These practical developmental learning tools are used by teachers to support early childhood development and help little learners build essential cognitive, motor and creative skills. DVT put forward a R10 000 for this initiative that saw 25 volunteers participating in the Ladles of Love Craft Zone.

DVT’s teams made educational development aids as part of the Ladles of Love initiative, participated in their annual Mandela Month Exercise Challenge and donated funds to the Ruyterwacht Senior Centre.
DVT employees also undertook their annual Mandela Month Exercise Challenge, which started on 2 July and ended on 4 August. With a target of R30 000 from 60 000 minutes of exercise, DVT rose to the challenge as always, raising over R34 000.
In addition, DVT donated R10 000 to Ruyterwacht Senior Centre, which provides essential services to about 250 people over the age of 60 who live in the impoverished Ruyterwacht, Matroosfontein and Elsies River suburbs in Cape Town. This donation is helping the centre to provide much-needed resources that enable the elderly to maintain their independence while living in their community.
Emerald Consulting held a virtual event with Ladles of Love. As part of Ladles of Love’s Mandela Day activations, Emerald Consulting employees spent the day building educational toys and tools for underprivileged schools using supplies provided in Hero Boxes.

Working together to make a real difference, the volunteers and participants who took part in these initiatives embody the 2026 Mandela Day theme – “It’s still in our hands to combat poverty and inequity.”
