Dynamic DNA Microsoft partnership empowers the youth of today

Dynamic DNA, a Dynamic Technologies group company, is an ICT training academy accredited by the MICT SETA. It has also been a registered Microsoft Training Services Provider (TSP) since 2016. As it celebrates the 10-year anniversary of this invaluable partnership, Dynamic DNA reflects on what makes relationships such as this essential to the IT sector.

These Microsoft certifications expose candidates to international training standards, bridging the gap between academia and the IT industry. This is incredibly empowering, particularly for youth from rural communities, as the certifications provide a precise, deep level of expertise. Microsoft qualifications require a minimum pass mark of 70%, giving graduates a level of proficiency and cachet that makes them exceedingly hireable.

Tinashe Banya, Portfolio Manager at Dynamic DNA, notes that the key focus areas of this partnership are AI Copilot, cybersecurity, data analytics, Azure developer and cloud computing. He says, “These qualifications are 4IR-aligned, which enhances employability and promotes entrepreneurship among unemployed youth.”

He adds, “Dynamic DNA develops youth across six provinces in South Africa. We are currently active in Kwa-Zulu Natal, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, Free State, Gauteng and North West and during the next financial year we will expand into Eastern Cape, Western Cape and Northern Cape. We are proud to say that this expansion covers the geographic locations that align with Microsoft objectives.”

The most recent cohort of Microsoft skilling programmes covered cybersecurity, digital skills, AI Copilot, data analytics and DevOps engineering. Each programme achieved a 100% successful completion rate, ranging from a 60-96% pass rate – an outstanding achievements given the stringent requirements.

For South African youth and the local IT sector, partnerships such as this one between Dynamic DNA and Microsoft provide access to a level of training that is exceptional and unusual. It goes a long way towards empowering the country’s youth while expanding the local tech talent pool. Tinashe says, “These digital skills make candidates instantly valuable to companies relying on those tools. However, combining them with broader foundational skills provides the strongest basis for long-term career resilience.”
