Making a positive impact with Inspired Testing

The Two Oceans Aquarium Trash Bash is an opportunity for community and environmentally minded individuals and corporates to take part in regular beach cleanups around Cape Town. With a renewed focus on protecting the environment and making a positive impact, Inspired Testing, a Dynamic Technologies group company, was delighted to support staff member Andrea van Sittert, People Operations Coordinator, when she signed up for the Trash Bash.

Andrea says, “This cause aligns with my personal values of social and environmental responsibility. It’s something I try to live every day, even if it’s just choosing the correct recycling bin. I also love surfing, so the ocean has always been a retreat for me. The process itself was so simple – the Two Oceans team took our details and then gave us gloves, a trash bag and a cheerful send-off! It was uplifting to see Capetonians with the same mindset coming together to make a real difference; I’ll definitely be there for the next one.”

With a new sustainability statement for 2025 and renewed purpose, Inspired Testing is taking action for a better future by supporting initiatives that protect and preserve the environment. This commitment reflects their responsibility to future generations and aligns with one of their core values. ‘Ask What’s Next’ is a call to action that drives the company to challenge the status quo and make meaningful change through shared responsibility and conscious choices.

Having Inspired Testing both support these initiatives and raise awareness about them to facilitate employee participation is important to Andrea. “I don’t always have the time to find these events on my own and having company support, social updates and so on, makes it possible to get involved. I’ve always believed that small actions compound over time. Paying it forward and leaving things better than how you found them is always worth the effort … and even a bit of sunburn – pro tip: never forget sunscreen!”

She adds, “I would encourage other employers and businesses to get involved in initiatives such as this because they give staff a hands-on way to contribute to the community. It’s also a wonderful, free team-building platform, and it allows us to play an active role in shaping the future. When organisations make participation easy, they help employees turn good intentions into real impact for generations to come.”

Inspired Testing’s commitment to climate and environmental initiatives is ensuring that their impact reaches beyond corporate social responsibility. These values tie in with their purpose of making way for potential – personally, professionally, and holistically. “I’m proud to be part of Inspired Testing because the culture genuinely supports growth in all areas,” says Andrea. “I’ve been given opportunities to stretch my skills, provided with the tools to succeed and encouraged to think bigger and further. That kind of support isn’t a given everywhere, and it makes me excited about what we can achieve together – Mars and beyond!”
