At DVT, a Dynamic Technologies group company, caring for communities is as important as the work the teams do every day. One of DVT’s values is to Lead with Heart – and DVT’s people all know that when you lead with heart, charity drives become more than donations – they become acts of empathy, connection and purpose. This is how they turn compassion into impact and make their values visible in the lives they touch.
To honour this value, the Cape Town team recently delivered 50 care packages to MOT (which means courage) South Africa (https://mot.org.za), which is an organisation that empowers young people with the courage to live, care and say no. MOT’s lifeskills programmes build confidence, resilience and emotional wellbeing among youth across the country.
Ineke Burger, Human Resources Manager at DVT, is based in Cape Town and drives the charity events and donations in that region. She says, “Throughout the year we are able to donate to different organisations by collecting donations from the staff or by donating money for specific needs – and this is something that is very close to my heart.”
She adds, “For this initiative, our focus was on supporting girls in need of sanitary products; an often overlooked but essential aspect of dignity and health. Distribution is typically the most challenging part, particularly knowing where the need is greatest and ensuring the items reach the right hands.”
Nosi Bolani, an Account Manager at DVT, connected Ineke with Viola Manuel from MOT. Ineke says, “This organisation is doing such impactful work in this space. Among their efforts, MOT supports a rape crisis centre where care packets such as ours can make a meaningful difference to someone. We’re confident that these donations will be put to good use and will offer comfort and support where it’s needed most.”
The care packages will be distributed at a rape crisis centre, providing comfort and support to those in need. The initiative was made possible through staff donations and the Mandela Day Exercise Challenge funds, making it a true DVT team effort.
