DVT, a Dynamic Technologies group company, chose to make a difference on Youth Day. On 16 June, staff in Johannesburg and Cape Town supported local charities through a heartfelt winter blanket and essentials drive.
In Johannesburg, the team collected warm clothing, groceries and household supplies for the children and staff of the Miracle Mission Children’s Home. Situated in Kensington B, Randburg, Miracle Mission is a small long-term residential care facility for children in distress. This includes children who have been abandoned, abused or neglected or who were born with long-term illnesses or disabilities.
In Cape Town, donations of blankets, winter accessories and children’s items were delivered to Klippie Kids, part of the Shiloh Synergy Organisation. Based in Klipheuwel, Klippie Kids supports early childhood education for children aged three to six years.
In addition, meals from the Cape Town office were donated to MES (Mould, Empower, Serve), which is a shelter supporting the homeless community in Durbanville. MES Cape Town has established a strong outreach, social relief and helpdesk service that meets the immediate and short-term needs of the homeless and unemployed community.
Chris Visser, DVT South Africa Managing Director, says, “This Youth Day initiative reflects DVT’s commitment to giving back and making a tangible impact in the communities where we live and work.”
